Default Winter aspens - in-car blur

Sometimes to amuse myself while we are driving, I photograph out the window (oh, I'm the passenger!). This was taken at 50mph on our way home through the Colorado mountains last week.

Topaz simplify 4, pastel; fractalius; PS rough pastels filter; all at various opacities; nik effex pro image borders with a variation I did on the outside.

Nancy, I remember another blur that you did from your car window and I liked it as much as I like this one. I really like the sense of motion while still retaining the shapes of the aspens. The color palette looks great and the effects are perfect - it looks like a silk screen to me. Beautiful

I am just blown away by this image. It's wonderful. The grays, white, and browns work together very well, and the horizontal lines are a great element. They not only oppose the vertical lines of the trunks but, also, accentuate the blur. What shutter speed did you use?

I really like this one too. You can clearly tell they are aspens and the blurred watercolour effect and the palette is just superb

I am usually the driver unfortunately but will try next time I am in the passenger seat

Thank you Cheryl, Dennis and Shane! Dennis here's the tech information: Canon 5D Mark III, Canon 24-105 f4 L IS @ 105, f7.1, 1/100, exp. compensation +2/3, ISO 100. Since the car is zooming along, I just take a guess at the settings and check the back to see how it turns out. It's really hard to capture something on purpose, but when I get just what I want, I'm super happy !

I agree with above comment, love the result you got. Before I read your comments, my first thought was, what a cool effect almost looks like your looking out a train window. Very nice work, I have some catching up to do.

Thanks Paul & Andrew! Andrew do you mean the camera in one hand and the dog leash in the other?? That could be a pretty abstract image when you were done!

My first impression is one of beauty, calmness, peace, delicacy. Wonderful repetition of lines and shapes. Great sense of depth. I like the frame.

This is VERY nice -- perfect subject, shutter speed and exposure!
