Tripod head, Canon 7D Canon 500mm f4 ISO 800 1/320 sec f5.6
A fairly common garden bird but often a little tricky to catch on an open branch, they prefer to scuttle about under bushes. This was taken from my open air hide at the opposite side of the garden, where there is a hawthorn bush, light was still in rather short supply. The area was baited with sunflower seeds.
I suspect many would prefer fewer twigs but I liked them, lets see
You did good Jonathan. Nice pose with a head turn and a great clean bg. I don't mind the twigs but if you were going to remove any for me it would just be the bottom left side
Jonathan ! the twigs are just fine and add to the image,as you say good to get this bird off the ground ,you have shown lovely plumage on this very sharp looking bird, looks very good to me.
Keith.
Hi Jon
I reckon the bird could be a tad higher in the frame but no big deal . You know Idon,t go for plain backdrops but this one works with the pale bits etc. Bird is great . I know what a pain they can be. Even at my pools they are hard.
Not sure about the twigs. I,ll reserve judgement.
Tail in focus would have been good but can't have evrything !
Chers
John
