As we wait/suffer through this deep freeze in North East America I thought I would post a picture from this summer.
Taken at Lake Paquette in the Cape Breton Highlands National Park just at sunset.
PP:Crop, levels, DE on sparrow, cloned out a small branch near the birds' chest, USM to JPEG
Comments and critiques always learned from and appreciated with thanks,

Does have a nice summer feel to it. Great detail on the bird too. A little busy (twiggy) for me and since you don't mind cleaning up a little I would probably remove that one dead hanging leaf upper left.

I like the setting, pose, details and composition. It is very busy but the sparrow is looking into a nice opening. There is a white line (spider web?) coming off a leaf in front and above the bird. Seeing it doesn't attach to anything I would clone it out. Can't wait for spring. Well done Gail!

Gail I don't mind all the foliage that's where they tend to be,in fact I would like to see the leaves and flowers a bit more pronounced .Roll on Summer.

I don't mind the foliage etc so much butthe whole shot - mainly the bird though seems a tad "hard" to me. Difficult to describe though -maybe its contrast. Could be my gear though !!
    Cheers

Great detail on this sparrow. Love the reflection in his eye. Yes, a bit busy, but as said above, it shows his habitat nicely. Jim noted the white line. Summer seems a long way off; I'll settle for spring.

    Hi Gail,
Nice look at this little bird. I like the flowers and the colors in this. Your usual solid techs. I do notice what Johnny mentioned about the bird, maybe a bit less contrast or less in the blacks.
Stay warm and I hope spring comes early this year. That cold front was enough for the year.
