In nice golden light this female was doing everthing possible to entertain this baby, she wasn't the mother (possibly an aunt) but just loved doing back flips in front of this new born,
the entertainment went on for over 15 mins, and just a joy to sit, watch and be witness to.

    D3s 500VR f/5.6 1/2000s ISO400 F/F, removed a small partial shadow RHS

    C & C most welcome

    Cheers

Love it Marc - great timing and action. A moment frozen in time, literally.
I think you may have pushed contrast and tonal depth a bit too much on the flying baboon?

    Hi Marc,

what a fun image. Great timing indeed. I agree with Morkel, a tad to much contrast in the whirl wind

Hi Marc - great action, well captured. Love the way the baby is looking at the other one. I also agree with Morkel. I think there is a repeating pattern where you removed the shadow but I might not have noticed it if you hadn't mentioned the removal.

Brilliant capture Marc, that expression on the little one's face is priceless

I personally would have liked a tad more space on the RHS, still a wonderful image and I have a big smile on my face right now as I am viewing this!

    Kind regards,

Nice timing Marc, really like the composition and content very much. Agree on backing off on the Contrast/Blacks, a quick fix that would enhance the image. A bit more space to the right would have been good, but with a fixed lens, these are unique moments so not a deal breaker. Would be great to try multiple exposures on something like this and track the backflip.

I think you meant multiple frames Steve?
Yes, I did and have stiched some together, but most had the subject cut.

Toning down the flying trapeze artist a bit would not hurt but this is one amazing images. What amazes me is that the shadow of the adult just missed the baby. Did the sand by the baby come from the leap?

A very cool shot Marc. How did the baby react to these flips? Just stare? Make noises? Flap its arms up and down? Try some flips itself? I like the expressions on the faces. The baby looks joyfully fascinated and the adult seems like its just focused on a routine. As others have mentioned, a fun image and one that brought a smile to my face.

    Hi Marc,
love the monkey acrobat, well done on capture this, telling a nice story.
I would go for less contrast in the subadult one and lighten a bit the darker parts , plus i would remove the blues/cyan out of the shadow area.

Interesting - never seen such action with adults.
Really a frozen moment in time.
It seems to be really hard work to entertain ;-)
I'm not sure if it's the color or the contrast but the difference between the rest of the picture and the "flying" monkey is really striking.
If the sand would be somewhere else and not in front of the baby would have made the shot even better. But you can't have everything.
