    Hi Ben,
This is a terrific shot. I love the position of the neck and the clear view of the bustard in the grass. In my experience they are always partially blocked by grasses and are hard birds to get a clear view of.
I like the comp and the color palette.
I wonder if the back and wing feathers are a tad over sharpened? Easy fix.
    A lovely image,
    Gail

Beautiful image and color. I will suggest running a bit of noise reduction to the background.

Great colors and light. I would remove just a little from the top if this were mine

Thanks for the comments, all appreciated. Re the tail feathers, it is not so much a sharpening problem, rather moire caused by the feathers.

Gorgeous bird, excellent pose and colors overall. I'd add a sliver more to the bottom and crop that much from the top.
I too felt the bird looked a tad oversharpened - thanks for explaining that.

Neat pose and beautiful dry grass environment. I agree with NR to the BG, and I'd have pointed the lens a tad more to the right (or cropped to that effect).

Lovely shot great pose, I agree the background looks a tad noisy. How much was the original cropped?
I remember reading somewhere that using intermediate ISO settings is not the greatest idea because more noise is generated , i.e ISO 400 correctly exposed should offer better noise levels than ISO 320.

Thanks for the suggestions. I have changed the following
    Noise reduction 50%
    Slightly different crop
    USM
    Rest as before
