A pair of mating Great Skuas, not sure who was the one complaining. Taken late morning at the most northerly point of the island, next stop Norway.

Off now to put up some Little owl conservation nest boxes in return for all their cooperation last year.

    Cheers
    Steve

Hey the look on both the faces is so very nicely captured. The conversation is so pronounced
The low level perspective and lovely details is what define it well
the BG is pleasing to the eye.

Luck you to have access to photograph these birds. We actually had a skua that ended up on one of our local beaches where it remained for about 3 weeks before flying off never to return. He was quite accommodating.

Very happy to see both skuas sharp, and the one squawking with the blue inside his mouth with just the right angle is a big plus. Is there any way you could have been a tad higher to photograph this pair?

Hi Vishal & Marina, thanks for swinging by.

Yep Marina, they are big birds and quite ferocious, amazing when you see them flying in low, just about to land. I could have gone higher, but the location then drops back down behind them, so I wanted to retain the FG mush and keep a clean BKG. Going higher may have also exposed more of their legs, but not much more.

    Cheers

Steve I like to see birds coming out of mush as they call it so the angle is ok for me, Marina is spot on with her comment about the mouth, magnificent looking birds.

Have spent the day making more Little Owl boxes.

Lovely image Steve, just love the expression on their faces. Wonder if its the female shouting at the male or vice versa . I get these birds up here on the Firth of Forth, but always flying by, and usually far off, unless your on a boat ofcourse. Great pic. Well done.

Hi Steve - nice sharpness, detail and the open mouth is a huge plus. Well done!
