nice light and exposure, cool waves in the BG. main issue here is that all birds are flying away from us. you want your subject to be flying towards you with a good HA, not away from you

Arash, I like the ability to see the wings fully extended from the side. I am not sure you could capture the same affect if they were flying towards the camera unless they were landing and the wings were spread for the landing.

    Thanks for your input...Terry Johnson

Nice sense of place, Terry. I can almost hear the waves. Getting three birds in focus always yields extra points.
But I have to agree with Arash that flight angle of the birds is a minus here.
If the flight path were parallel to the camera, this would have been a far more effective image (and you'd also get the wing details you desire).
If you're ok with cloning out stuff, I'd also evict the gull on the right and the wing entering from the top of the frame

If you want to capture the dorsal view a banking position parallel to the back of the camera is what you want to get.

    good luck

Hello, I would like to thank everyone for providing their comments. As most of the suggestions have to do with positioning, I can't do much about those suggestions. With respect to cropping the other birds in the image, I can do that.

Thanks again for the suggestions...Terry Johnson
