Default Need a direct phone # for CS Irvine

I send in to CS Irvine my MarkIII & lens 300 f2.8 because lens stop focussing & error6 (all this after firmware 1.2.3 update) the lens Canon wanted as test to the problem with the camera body only..because the lens works perfect with my 5D.
the combo has been there 8 days & I only see on their repair url a repair # for the lens..after calling 2x & asking for the repair # for the camera ...I had to wait on the phone with no answer. Today I call again & find out that the camera body is entered in the accessory listing without a progress status & no repair #.

I need a direct phone # for CS Irvine to straighten this out...and what the status is

can some body here steer me in the right direction???

In the future try to use NY repair for your repairs Renate.
    Irvine is infamous for problems.
Also there are no supervisors high enough there to make any real decisions if a problem becomes a serious issue.

    Robert,

    Thanks for the info...

Canon has all their service phone # routed to 1 Calling Center in VA now. I tried those 2 # above they end up in the same place now.

I'm so fedup with Canon service & Canon camera problems...

After I get my stuff back I'll evaluate my situation and see what I want to do... because I dont want my golden years putting up with Canon $4500 door stoppers & my new 300 f2.8 IS if it's ok maybe keep it or sell it. Or sell all my Canon stuff..but is the grass really greener on the N side???

Depends on if you are using a filter or wearing blue-blocker sunglasses when you look :D

Nikon is a happy place to be right now, but the pendulum will probably swing again someday. I just hope it's not too soon.

Been there Renate. Which I could tell you what to do. It is frustrating.

Have been very happy since I made the switch and never had a desire to go back !!!

Sorry the numbers didnt work Renate! I was out of mobile signal range (terrible here in FL) so I sent them untested.

So far with the D3 and D300 Nikon has underpromised and over delivered on specs and performance. I am very happy the MKIII came along and gave me the idea to buy my first Nikon in over 10 years :)

Havent had any repairs done on any Nikon gear yet, fingers crossed, so I cant comment on repair service yet.

    Robert
