Canon 7D Canon 500mm f4 ISO 800 1/1000 sec f6.3, the light was changeable, had I realised it had picked up this much I would have gone for a smaller aperture.
Shot taken from garden hide, another practice shot using rear button focus. All C&C welcome.

Hi Jonathan, very nice bird, head angle, perch and BG. A smaller aperture like you said would have got more part of the bird in focus, but not a deal breaker. The image is a little flat to me and could benefit from a little more contrast I think. TFS. Loi

Nice bird. The composition works very good for me. Wonderful perch, details and BG. I wish me a little bit more sharpness on the feet.

You've really shown this little bird off in great fashion. Nice detail, and like the left foot raised, very pretty to look at. The perch is amazing, love the way it is sharp in the center and moves out of focus at the edges.

You're really nailing these cute little guys. Great perch and raised foot. Yes, several stops down would have helped, probably without hurting the lovely BG.

Jonathan looks like your back button focus is working very well, nice neat and sharp bird on a good clean BG.
