    Default Bufflehead

    Bufflehead Hen

    Camera: SONY
    Model: SLT-A77V
    ISO: 100
    Exposure: 1/800 sec
    Aperture: 5.6
    Focal Length: 400mm

I've taken your suggestions from my last post and tried to apply it to this image. I've kept the low pov, raised the shutter speed to improve sharpness, and given it a more off-center crop. Now if only the bufflehead drakes would come to play. It's very strange, seems that the hens are much braver than the drakes around here.

Pretty darn good! About the only thing I might consider is a slight crop off the bottom, and maybe removing the double catch light. Otherwise perfect!

I agree with Doug, nice image of a skittish species. Double catchlight doesn't bug me as it's a reflection off the water. I would crop a bit off the bottom though.

    Looking forward to more!

Agree with taking a small slice off of the bottom..... love the sweet look and pose of this girl. BG and FG colors are wonderful.
