These have just come out in bloom and smell wonderful. Two image overlay in camera, macro lens, with silver reflector. Textures added from texbox, and image sharpened.

This is beautiful -- color and composition. The blooms contrast very nicely with the background. Having just come in from clearing the front walk and driveway, it's wonderful to see something white that isn't snow.

The two-image overlay . . . Was it one in focus and the other not?

Lovely image, Jackie. I especially like the gradation of dark on the right shading to lighter as you get to the flower and the left side. Beautiful textures.

Dennis and Cheryl, thanks for the comments. Dennis, yes one image was in focus with the DOF very shallow, 3.5, focusing on the petals and stamen on the left. The other image was OOF and you can just see hints of it with the white blurs around the petals. There was a ghost of the stem, but the textures seemed to cover that up.

This is fantastic! Soft and delicate flowers and a fabulous bkgd. Beautifully done!!
I am so envious as my paper whites are still just green stalks and I leave for a trip in a little over a week. They'll bloom while I'm gone.

I know these flowers are called Paper Whites, and that is just what this image says of them. Using the image overlays and other textures makes them really tissue paper thin....beautifully done.

Love the softness! Thanks for explaining your photo technique. The flowers are gorgeous. I like the tilt into the frame, the length of the stem, etc. I wish the texture in lower right part were a bit lighter.

Thanks for the comments. Anita, I will try your suggestion tomorrow and see what I think of it.

Here is a version with the LRC lightened Anita. I think I am still partial to the original version.

I like the second version a bit better, but, both are excellent and beautiful. The important thing is to go with the version you prefer. :-)

Thanks Anita, I do appreciate your thoughtful critiques! This version may grow on me later!
