This is actually the frame prior to my last post.

Arash mentioned the previous frame would have been better and for some reason I thought i did not have that frame.

I did a quick file search and it appeared

    As before techs are:

    D800e
    300f4 + 1.7x TC @ 500mm
    f7.1
    1/3200
    ISO 640

Cropped a bit from left and top and bottom for panoramic view. There was an extra splash further back but it made the subject too small in the frame at 1200 pixels

Usual PP levels and slight colour adjustments
Selective sharpening on subject and removed a bit of blue that reflected off the water making the whites look wrong.

    Comments and critiques most welcome

    Thanks for viewing

I like the sharpness, running take-off splash, water colour, wing position and composition. Nice image Shane.

Nice bird, and I like the splash. Good wing position and eye contact. Looks like it could use some slight CW rotation, and I might brighten the image a bit.

Great running pose, and the splash really makes an impression, although it would be even stronger with visible feet. As Doug suggests, I might lighten the bird a bit but I would take some off of the right side.
