    Default Pied-billed Grebe enjoying sushi

Here's a photo I got yesterday at an estuary in San Diego. The halibut is larger than the Grebe's head and it's interesting to see the bird maneuver the fish into swallowing position.

Great moment captured, Bob. Might have been interesting to see it from a lower POV, but that's not always possible. The BG could use a little NR.

Thanks Bill. I would have liked to get lower, but I was shooting from a rocky jetty and I figured preserving my equipment from my poor climbing skills was of primary importance :-). And thanks for the tip about NR. I forgot to apply any and I'll go back and do that.

Nice behavior shot Bob! A lower angle would have been ideal, but it sounds like that wasn't possible. I might clean up some of the imperfections in the surface of the water.

One of my favorite fish to eat also. Cool shot of this guy wolfing down this over size fish. The techs look good and the shooting angle is what it is. Nice capture, for both of you.

Thanks to everyone for your comments. Doug - I'm going to test my new Photoshop skills on cleaning up some of the junk in the water. Unfortunately, there's a LOT of it.

Incredible! How do they DO that?! Lower POV may have been nice, but that's not always possible. I would only clean up the "junk" around the edges.... reeds and bubbles and "stuff" around the bird looks quite natural. Pretty amazing!
