I think cropping out half of the water would strenghten this image alot. You would still retain the water element, but the weak reflection would be mostly eliminated. Nice look-back pose from the bird - although I wish for more of a profile to better distinguish bill.
Like the posture and sharpness, and the eye contact is great. Background slightly busy, but understandable given the location and need for deep DoF. Overall a pleasing image.
You did well here Ken and I like the eye contact and sharpness. The light a tad from left to right and you lose some detail especially the grand coloring on the body/wing area of this handsome subject.
