    Tried to do something a little diffferent with this image. I almost always shoot birds with front light , but saw this sidelit Egret at the Alligator Farm and decided to give it a try. I used a bit of fill from the flash and the bemmer to lighten up the dark side a bit. I would be interested to hear any comments and suggestions.

    I think it works well, but I wish the OOF branch covering the body would not be there. Am I dreaming, or are egrets' eyes normally yellow? (the reddish eye immediately caught my attention).

    To the above suggestions I would add that the whites seem a little hot on my monitor.
