    Hi Thomas,
I can see why you like this but I have a couple of suggestions that may improve this image.
I would crop a lot off the bottom and some off the left. This would make it more of a pano. By having the bird a bit bigger in the frame it would be easier to tell that the duck is wet and has a film of water over his bill and head.
I imagine the light was soft and diffuse but I still think the image needs a bit more contrast and a bit of a boost in saturation.
I like the wet look and think the water drop falling into the water and the ones on the wings look great. I also like the complimentary BG sand bar,

This is a beautiful image Thomas. Love the high key look, your low shooting angle and the thoroughly drenched bird.
The falling drop is a nice touch.
Before reading Gail's crit, I too felt that this image could use a crop from the bottom and the left.

    Hi Thomas,

Really nice image that tells the story. I like the low angle, but agree with Gail about trying more contrast to bring out the difference between the bird and the water/bg.

I like the low angle, wet look and stare. I agree with Gail's comments regarding composition and contrast. Nice image Thomas.
