    Happy New Year Everyone!!!

another of my favorite frozen shots....

taken last New Years Day outside Highlands, North Carolina.

This is part of a Falls that goes over the old highway.

the funny structures, are actually broken off icicles from the cliffs above that falls straight down and stay standing upright.

    enjoy.....

    hand held, no flash.

pp, sharpen, contrast, saturation, vivid glow

This has very nice diagonals and contrast in textures and light. Good work.

Thanks for mentioning vivid glow. I'd not heard of it, before, so tracked it down through Google. Looks like it can make a substantial difference without being over the top.

Really nice layering effect of the ice & the rocks. Well done in capturing the crystalline look of the ice.

Hi, Linz, Happy New Year! I love the diagonals and the sense of depth - your eyes can wander around - there's a lot to look at. Nicely done.

Very moody, great subtle light, and the streaks of water are cool. All the best for the New Year Lindsay!

Oh dear, maybe I should not be commenting on photos today. I seem to find something that needs improving in each one. :-(
This photo doesn't speak to me, though it is technically well done.
