    Thomas:

    Excellent shooting angle, strong sense of motion from wing blur.

    I think the negative space in the composition works well here.

    I might consider some subtle increase in the contrast on the bird only.

    Please be sure to comment on other folks images. It really helps train your eye, and build our community at large.

    Hey Thomas, I like the low angle, the high key look and especially the loose composition. The head angle is killing me, ideally the bird would have its head angled towards you a bit with solid eye contact.

    Keep posting, its the best way to learn!

    Nice low angle, sitting in the water certainly paid off. I like the bit of water action near the bird's belly. Personally I would have preferred the wings open to the back and a better head angle but you have nice details on the face and body. Perhaps a bit off the bottom would work too. Have a Happy New Year!

    Thanks. I a couple more pictures of different wing angles, but I like this one. Throughout the whole sequence he sadly didn't move his head. Happy New Year!
