Work on birds approaching the feeder this morning. Two flashes on the bird, and two on the background print. Triggered by bird breaking the PhotoTrap beam. Happy New Year Everyone!

Alan, you are getting some great shots using the PhotoTrap. The full wingspread is terrific, good sharp eyes and I like the background board that you're using. To me, the whites look a bit hot, maybe consider a little Nik Detail Extractor on them? Maybe they're OK in the full size image because they're not blown out by any means. Another excellent image.

This is a wonderful view of an incoming pose. You still have lots of detail in the face and eyes ( which I often find get lost on these incoming shots).
You are becoming well versed in the use of your phototrap.
    Well done,
    Gail

Another stunning image Alan! I like the wing position, fanned tail, IQ and BG. I didn't know that they had blue in the underside of the wing. Happy New Year to you as well.

Great toy and it gets even better in the hands of a real master. I have always had a lot of respect for your work, Alan. You always come up with something new and you make it art. Respect.

Alan, I love this image and have enjoyed all of your camera trap images. I don't know if this is the right forum, but I would like to hear more about your setup (or even see a picture of it).

    Alan,

You sure are enjoying that phototrap! Stunning in flight images lately. This one is over the top amazing.

With the 85 at that distance from the beams, how much of a crop is a typical image? I assume you leave a bit of room all around since you aren't sure what angle the bird might be flying in? IQ is excellent, just curious.

I'm trying to convince Doug to buy one so that I can get some shots in his backyard. He's got the birds, that's for sure.

Hey Miguel, with all my flight shots (flash or not) I shoot loose. With a 36 MP camera, cropping still allows me a lot of pixels on the bird. This image is cropped about 50%.

Shouldn't you be the one that buys the PhotoTrap to shoot in his yard? :-)

Thanks for all the kind comments.
