Daurian redstart male.
Taken a couple of days ago at a local park. These attractive little birds winter here and are a favourite of mine :) I spent the best part of a day waiting for this fellow to land on a perch with a clean bkg to no avail. Must go back and try for a cleaner shot during the holidays...
Specs - Canon 60D, 500 F4 II & 1.4ex III, tripod, F5.6, ISO 500, 1/80sec
C&C welcome and appreciated. Thanks for looking and a very Happy New Year to you all.

DAVE:
An attractive fellow indeed, nice pose, catchlight, exposure.
When circumstances allow, I try to be setup so that the perch is parallel to the image sensor, helps with the depth of field.
The background could be toned down a bit in post processing if you are Ok with that level of changes
Good luck on your next outing.
Cheers
Randy

Nice perch and I like the curved pose of the subject. Well exposed and sharp. You could boost the ISO to give you help on the SS but it looks like it turned out fine here. The BG is a little busy for my tastes with the bright highlights, but you seem to know that already and eager to try for more.

Great color and sharp detailed image. Glad your patience paid off. I agree that you already have a plan for an even better shot next time. Be sure to share when you get it
