I captured this image of a male purple finch in spring plumage as he awaited his turn at a seed feeder off my back deck. Surrounding forest is predominately bigleaf maple, hazelnut, vine maple, Douglas fir, red cedar. By striking this irresistible pose at close range, he upstaged the four pairs of Western Tanagers that were also foraging in the trees.

Very nice. The oof branch in the back draws my attention away a little. I would probably try to tone down the highlight on the branch and maybe burn in the branch and leaves to make them less stand out.
Mike is right about the hot branch. It draws the eye away from a very nice image of the bird. Great color and detail. Maybe a little tight in the frame.
I wish the finch wasn't looking into the tree, hopefully you can get some images of it turned the other way! As presented the bird needs more room in front of it...but at the risk of introducing more of that tree into the frame.
