The bird seems to be propelled by the wave behind it.
To my eye the side-lighting is very effective.
    Excellent color and contrast.
The water drops below the bird help tell the story.

Very powerful image. The placement of the bird in the frame is well done. The perfectly lit crashing wave at left adds great interest as well.

I like the wave breaking in the background. Gives the image a very dynamic feel.

The bird is positioned perfectly relative to the crashing wave. The head angle looks great, and the fish is positioned nicely. You controlled your exposure well, although I might be tempted to bring down the exposure in the ULC to enhance detail in the wave. A bit more light on the eye is all I could ask for.
