    Default Great Spotted Woodpecker

    Hello,

since one week it is foggy and it is raining. Yesterday the sun was shining.
So i went to my bird food place in the forest. From my three bird feeders was one stolen. (it costs only 6 Euro ).
Well, if the guy feed the birds in his own garden is this ok. Main thing is the birds become their feed.
Many birds were there. I was so lucky to capture this Great Spotted Woodpecker.

Great head position. And no food showing either !
Good colours and detail in the black back.

Very nice, great head position. My preference would be to lighten the image overall as well as some shadow/higlight or NIK Detail Extractor to bring out more of the detail in the dark blue feathers. Would you consider a slightly tighter crop, as the size of the tree overwhelms the bird slightly. Only my thought, but I sometimes crop too tightly.

This is really a stunning WP and a stunning image, I love the tree and all its textures and colors, and of course the colors of the bird. The comp you chose is perfect to go with that pose.

Totally stunning. Love the diagonal pose and the perch. And the soft light. And the bird's energy. You should have a look at my contest.... (Don't tell anyone but the deadline will be extended one month....)
