I used a jixipix plugin Artoon that turned the leaf blue, then I used Moku Hanga by jixipix and layered it with the previous one, then merged all and used Topaz Adjust that put the neat colors and a little texture in the snow background (which was actually ice pellets AKA sleet) and brought out detail and popped the leaf color. Moku Hanga had also added a texture to the background as it was pretty much pure white except under the leaf edges.

I really like the leaf, the background, and the sense of separation between the two. I'd be inclined to get rid of the blue on the background that's the same as the blue on the leaf. Or maybe just tone it down, some?

Thanks for the comment and the suggestion Dennis. I hope this correction looks OK. I didn't like that blue there either.

I like the repost Judy. Great colours and details. I especially like the pastels in the BG.

That really looks good -- especially with the other shadows now being bluer than they were in the first post.

The oak leaf has wonderful interesting shape, especially with the frost highlighting the veins. Blue is the perfect "cold" color and I really like palette of the bkgd with the blue leaf (repost). Wonderful that the mottling of the bkgd repeats the mottling of frost on the leaf. Very effective composition with just a leaf!

Very nice!! I think lightening the shadows was a good idea -- made a very lovely image even better, if possible!

Hi, Judy, I like the repost - Dennis offered a good suggestion. It has a very three-dimensional look to me (and wintry). I'm a little distracted by the halo on the stem - especially at the end - but it's a minor concern.

I like the simplicity of the image. The color and texture says frigid. Well done with the repost. Can the halo around the stem be eliminated?

I like it! The color is gorgeous, and works well with the ice. Love the star-like snowflakes on the leaf. The BG colors and texture are pleasing. The reposts are lovely.

    Judy,

Greetings. I've been away, but I wanted to say I really like how the leaf just jumps off the page. Great work to start and in the reposts. Good show!

    Cheers,

    -Michael-
