Amazing close-up detail and open bill. But I'll have to say that I don't find the image very attractive. Perhaps too clinical? I guess I think of Snowy Plovers as sweet little birds; I'm perhaps guilty of projecting my own sentiment onto this amazing image.

Not seen one of these but as you may know I do like big in your face close ups- so its fine to me. Not everyone.s taste I do accept.

Very nice exposure, details and comp. White and green make for a very nice bg. You've timed this perfectly. I'd evict the highlights on the bill and the dust spots in the bg. Other than that, I like this a whole lot.

Sharp with wonderful detail. You did pretty well with a potentially awkward image design. The green above/white below BKGR leaves me in a quandary....

I like the open beak, details, exposure, composition and BG. I agree with Sidharth's comment on dust bunnies and highlights. Excellent image Lorant!

Thank you guys for the comments. My laptop screen is not spotless, so I did not notice the dust spots. I try to find and remove them. Bill, I see your point there. I see this bird very sweet too and in this photo it looks the opposite. But it is one of the things why I find this image interesting:).

    Happy holidays.
