Lovely quality, I like the background in this shot I am not usually a fan of black backgrounds but I think this works very well indeed, it looks credible (especially now when I can see the light outside my garden hide!). Super exposure and fine detail - both feet clearly visible and in focus - it ticks the boxes for me.

Excellent setup and execution. Very nice and sharp on the eye and head. I agree that the background really helps pop this little guy in the image. The diagonal perch makes a nice accent. Very sweet image.

Hi Chris, looking good, the diagonal makes for an interesting POV. Just a thought, but would you consider flipping left to right? I'm probably wrong, but the light to me looks like a flash?

PS The image is reverting back to an untagged profile again, thought you had it sorted?

Very dramatic. I like the gaze of the bird and the strong diagonals of the image.

Does look a bit "flashy" but has come off pretty well. Interesting about the black backdrop.

Very dramatic lighting, as Grace notes. Love the comp, color, detail. Well conceived and executed.

A +1 to Grace's comments. Fantastic lighting and love the diagonals. Even wide open, your DOF is enough to cover everything that matters. Your setup is yielding some great shots Chris. Keep them coming.

Hi Chris, Lovely image design and dramatic BKGR. Super sharp. Love the perch. Love the perch and the light. Was the background simply shaded? What was it? Was the original a vertical?

Thanks Chris. Since IQ held up so well I'd go for a bit more of an aggressive crop to move the bird more into the upper left corner.... Enjoy.

Wonderful light. The black BG fits to perch and bird. Composition and sharpness looks good.. Nice Image.
