I'm new to Bird photography. Let me know what you guys think in terms of composition and post processing etc.
D800, 70-200 VRII with TC-20EIII. ISO 640 400mm f/10 1/1600sec
I notice that I'm losing a lot of IQ with the TC, but it's the only way I can get close enough now. What's the best way to get images on here? I'm getting a lot of compression through Flicker.

I am new to bird photography too and I like your image a lot. Sorry I have no words of wisdom.

Would you mind posting the original capture prior to cropping and adjustments?

Hi James, welcome!
If you become a member you can upload directly from an image you exported for LR, PS, etc. It's an excellent $20 investment and helps support the site.
You caught a great action moment with what looks like good sharpness. Your camera settings look good and I think you did a good job on the crop --- you could add canvas on the left and extend the sky if you wish, and/or take a little more off the right to give the bird room to fly into. You have good detail in the whites, but could possibly bring out a little more in the darks. It would help critique to have information about your processing. These days, that's almost as important as camera settings.
Welcome to BPN! Go over to the Introductions forum and introduce yourself! We look forward to more of your images.
