    Default Flight of the Kite

Going thru some archives and found this one from 2012. Don't know how I missed it. Probably because it was shot during the time I was having issues with my 300 and I sorta gave up on having good images . The raw was pretty noisy hopefully I salvaged it. I blame that on the 7D combined with slight under exposure. I decided NOT to mess with the image by adding canvas so of course no fly into space

I love this bird and I hope I will be back to the area soon where it lives here in Mexico. Like the pose and the snail it has and I like the fact we can see the vegetation. Yes, I would like a different crop, but it is nicely saved and looks good on my laptop. Nice one.

Love the light, pose, dangling talons and prey here, Cheryl. Nice to see some of the environment. If you could take any off of the right and top, I think I would give it a try to get the bird out of the center.

Excellent pose with the fanned tail and the hanging talons. Love the prey and a look at that red eye. Would definitely crop for better bird placement in the frame.

Since the bird is not flying to our left (as viewed), I don't feel like space is needed there, but I would like to get him uncentered. How about cropping from the left and top for something different? I've done it with browser scroll and an envelope and feel like it's an option. Glad you found this one....processing looks fine to me, terrific flight shot of a bird with his meal.

I was thinking more like this. I had to take some off of the top, right and bottom, but I think this makes for a more powerful image.

It's a fine shot despite conditions ( don't blame the camera) I agree with moving the bird slightly over to the right. Focus looks spot on.

Wonderful flight pose. Love the colours, light, Details and the green trees at bottom. The eye catcher is the Prey (Is this one snail or a couple of snails?)
    I agree with Marina's repost.

I like the fanned tail, sharp talons, catch, wing blur and composition in Marina's repost. Well done Cheryl!

I like both reposts and I prefer the latter because of the more space. I feel Marina yours is a little tight. Saying that you guys missed my point about not wanting to add canvas. I was hoping to keep the image pretty much as is as far as the crop goes .Agree that you both have the right idea for composition I was just wondering if I could get away without adding the canvas .Artie I like how you lightened/brightened it up especially considering the noise it had. Thanks both for the reposts

I did add/stretch a bit of canvas left. Sure, you can get away without adding canvas by moving the bird back using techniques from APTATS II.
