I have located a large patch of sunflowers which have not been harvested. They are providing winter forage for a large number of small birds. I usually avoid capturing small birds on large perches; in this case, I think the finch and large sunflower work. C & C appreciated. D7000, Nikkor 600mm, f6.3, 1/800, iso 200.
Hi Gary. Nicely framed and sharp. EXP and head angle perfect. The light strip on the bottom is problematic..... Lower might have reduced its impact but I am not sure if you have more rosy BKGR above. What is that rose color???
Love to you and to Lynn.

I like the big perch and the little fellow resting on it. Is the catchlight real? It looks a bit odd to me. Lots of artifacts in the background, I think this could be processed better...bird's head has a softness to it..how much of a crop?
Thanks to all for your look and comments. I've been in Yellowstone NP accounting for the delayed response. Marina and Grace, this was a large crop, approximately 25% of the original. Grace , the catch light is real. Artie, a look and comment from the boss is appreciate. The bg consists of a snowy stubble field at the base. Distant shrubs and trees in late afternoon light account for the rose color ( 100 yards to a half mile ). Lynn and I send are love to you and Denise. May you both have a wonderful New Year.
