    Default Camera Harness

Does anyone use a harness and if so do you like it and would it support a 30D with the 100-400 attached ?

Not really a harness but I often ride my bike through Golden Gate Park or some other place and made a simple strap to keep my camera and lens (70-200 so not quite a larger as the 100-400) from banging on the bike. T First of all I ride a "ladies frame" bike which gives me more room between the camera and the frame. The sales person at the bike shop said that "step through" frames are actually getting more popular with "dads" so that when they have a kiddie carrier on the back they don't kick their kid in the head every time they get on or off the bike.

I went to a sporting goods store and bought 2 of the small caribiner type clips and about a foot and a half of 3/16" bungie cord. I cut it to fit and it clips very easily to the camera and keeps it from swinging around. Not sure if that's what you are using it for. but it was cheap and very simple.

I use one of these for a IDMKIIN and a 400 DO IS lens. (considerably heavier than your kit)

I use it when I know I'll be out for a long period of time.

I have a 40D with the 100-400 IS as my other kit...and hand hold it tirelessly. I'm a 6'4" 225 lb. guy, so everything is relative. :)
