    Default White Pelicans Preening

Two things caught my eye and made me press the shutter button. The pattern of the long twisted necks and the colors of the reflections on the water as the sun was about to set.

There is no eye contact here. In fact there are hardly any eyes to be seen in all those white feathers. Is that a problem?

All comments and suggestions for improvement are welcome.

The black BG works well here. Great job on the exposure. It could use a slight CW rotation.

I love the light and the colors you mention of the reflections. I find no problem with the eye thing because you do see eyes enough in my opinion I also like how the light is somewhat dappled finding its way here and there as well as the dark bg. The image tells a story with the behavior .

    Beautiful exposure, light and details.
Side lighting has added a dimension to this image.
I think it could use a slight CW rotation.
I'm missing a strong focal point and this image has my eyes drifting around. This image would have been better, imho, if the bird in the center had an open eye, or if there was something else that engaged the viewer a bit more.
