Default Picture styles and micro adjustment

The general consensus is that picture styles do not affect raw images? Opening an image in Canon's DPP my image looks sharp when viewed as taken in "standard" but if I change the picture style to "neutral" the image is much softer. My question is: When adjusting a lens with micro adjustment should one have the picture style set to neutral, thereby achieving the sharpest focus?

I use standard (neutral may reduce the contrast too much and sometimes make it difficult to judge edge sharpness) but set sharpening to "sharpness" not "unsharp mask" and then set to slider to 2 or 3.

Neutral for me, with contrast set to minimum.
