This was taken at Fort Desoto in Florida. I almost skipped taking this image because the Egret was in the shade and the water was much brighter. I should have raised the ISO to get more DOF. All C&Cs are welcome and appreciated.

A very nice portrait of a beautiful bird.
I thought there was a color cast to it (the grey wing feathers seemed too warm) so I did a 20-second color correction to it. I also tweaked the contrast slightly.
    What do you think?

    A nice portrait with a good re-work.

Thanks Henry. I struggled with this image and like the direction you took.

Jim I can see what Henry is getting at and do agree that the wing looks better, but would not have noticed if it had not been pointed out very nice portrait.

Beautiful portrait! I agree with Keith - I probably would not have noticed the cast until pointed out by Henry, and I prefer the re-post.

Good job on Henry seeing the color cast. Interesting that Jim saw the cast in the GGO above but not his own. It's amazing how difficult it can be to detect. This is a very pleasing image of our very special Fort DeSoto bird, Jim. Simply and pleasing to the eye.

Thanks everyone for the comments and suggestions. Marina when I looked at the GGO image I saw the cast immediately. With my own I knew it was off but for some reason I struggled with the true colours. Thanks again Henry.

Nice comp and I like the textured look to the neck feathers, which is a beautiful feature of the reddish egrets.

A nicely composed, elegant portrait, Jim. I tend to prefer warmer colors and would probably find a balance between the OP and the RP. TFS.
