Phalaropes have been all over the SF Bay area in the last week. This was photographed yesterday at Natural Bridges Beach in Santa Cruz, CA. Given the hyperactivity of these fellows, I hope you'll forgive me the less than perfect head angle.

    Thanks for looking! JR

    Hi John,
Forgive is such a strong word. IMO you nailed everything else in this image. Since there are so many of them around........hope you get the perfect head angle in the future!

We could forgive you, but the head is not at all sharp. Too bad as it is a killer sweeet bird with nice blue water...

    Thanks for the feedback.

I am often getting into trouble with the resize for web. Before resize the head in the original is much sharper. Anyway, here is another version which I sharpened after resize for web. Hope that's better. Sorry about that! JR

PS: Actually, doesn't it show now a slight halo?

I love the colors in this image. Its a bit tight at the back for me. And I would love a different head angle.

Head angle can be forgiven... but only once! Very nice image of a beautiful bird. The head angle would make a world of difference.
