Lots of love and for sure lots of laughter

Image, Meerkat having it's moment, it's very own personality, IMHO

Cropped for comp and hand held.

    MKIII
    70-200mm
ISO 1000 ( could have gone down with ISO!)
    f/8 1/1600 sec

Hi Anette and a very Merry Xmas to you to.

Like the inquisitive look with the grass over the head, as it adds to the moment, likewise the position in frame. I also like the fact the subject is partially hidden and only the top half visible. I agree that the ISO is a tad high, but things happen in the heat of the moment and I don't think it's actually impaired the image. I do however feel the WB is a tad off and therefore would try and temper the warmth, this may have stemmed from the mid tone action, if this is in Layers then turn it off and see how it looks.

Hi Anette - And a very merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you too! He's wearing his camouflage for a sneak attack. Definite cuteness factor and I like the comp. Good suggestions by Steve as usual.

    Rachel

    Hi Anette,
how the **** should our foreign BPN members understand the title , which is a real burner ,if understand the context.
Did you find it in the field?
I think you should post this in Out of the box , and not in wildlife forum, i think too much manipulation .I can`t believe this is real , but a really good job, you have done.

The RP makes this work better with the cooler WB, like the suricate in the ocean of grass, not too small and not too big.Love those clear eyes.

Merry Christmas and a happy 2014, from my side.

Also ich finde es wirklich nicht gut , ein Bild so zu manipulieren , und dann zu behaupten es wäre so gewesen, also nee Anette , ich bin ein wenig enttäuscht……………………...

Hope to see more in 2014 of your work, but the natural stuff please .

    Regards Andreas

Since non of you suggested it yet! Here another RP

I do like the image flipped better
Have a sticky note on my screen saying: FLIP THE IMAGE AT THE END!!
    Just to see!

Andreas, you funny chap. Didn't you know that the English world has borrowed the word "Heiligenschein" ?
The Heiligenschein has fallen into my lap, while crawling between scorpions, frogs and dust to get myself dusty/dirty again ( "Rachel's fav moves", she desperately wants to join me one day )
Was very hard to photograph this one, geese gave me a very hard time……. rolling over my back to get in position, digging the elbows deep in the morning mud to get a proper Gitzo tripod
done, hands firm for a RRS head - push button when all was settled… and still isn't … had to laugh so much when I saw this chap.

Heiligenschein > literally - holy light

Before some more think that I "fiddled" with all sorts of brushes in this image. There you go. Guess this is enough proof

Hey Anette , you funny "what is the female word for chap",oh my english is so bad, is it Chappy ? No i did not know , that it can go the other way round, taking words from german to english, besides the words that has got something to do with World War II.

BPN is a great place to learn a lot of useful stuff.

And your last post , i mean the one before mine, is the absolute burner…….

I was giggling , and could not stop for a minute or two, that my room mate was asking what the **** is going on ?

Looking forward for a funny and rewarding 2014

    Cheers Andreas

Title will be than better "holy light"

Maybe you get one too, but only maybe
That will be than the flipped one. I think that is better.

    Have a great evening, enjoy

PS room mate!!!! Do you live in a Hostel up there in the deep jungle of old Caesar Land ?
No, I do not need any details of your room mate

Beatifull and cute. I have a slight preference for the OP, feels a bit warmer than the RP. flipped version doens't work.

Great shot. I like the composition of this shot and the eye contact. The stuff on it's head (the "Heiligenschein") is a nice bonus.
