    Default Full Wingspread

This will be my last post until the middle of January, as I leave for my summer holidays early friday morning. This is another incoming shot from the vulture hide I managed on sunday morning. These magnificent birds have a wingspan of 2.5m, and it was amazing to see them come in from high above. They would be a tint speck circling in the sky, and then come in on approach like an aircraft. As mentioned on my previous post, these guys are only active when the thermals are warmer, thus late morning, the light is harsh. This is full frame, and managed to keep the wing tips with a bit of space either side. BG as shot in camera.

You brought the wow factor with this one Stuart. Love the hunched up incoming pose and the HA is the icing on the cake. Love it as presented.

Beautiful incoming pose and love that bg. You say the light was harsh, but it's not easy to tell because you're obviously handled it well. Nice work!

Awesome. Dynamic pose and the photograph leaves me wanting to see and hear what this was like to experience. I also enjoy the background coverage and the softly defined elements. Enjoy your holidays!

Amazing detail and I love the eye focus and color. I prefer this angle of approach to your previous post, but both are terrific. Agree with previous comments that you've done a great job controlling the light.

A maximum landing pose! Just enough light in the eye. And some nice habitat.

Thanks Manuel. Im getting excellent results with the 300 F/2.8 and the 2X TC. I also used a friends same combo with the same results. 2 different lens's cant be wrong.

Thank you all for the kind words and feedback.

What a cool landing pose Stuart. The flared wings, the eye contact and the feet posed for the landing all look fantastic. The BG with some habitat showing really looks good. Very well done.
Have a great holiday and talk to you next year.

Yay, someone else using the 300 f2/8 and 2x! And with great results. In ref to comments about it above, it does work well except AF is a bit slow. Prob. discussed often here. I've learned to get by with presets and AI SERVO mode, but miss shots here and there.

    Stuart:

Really top shelf! the 3D effect from the very sharp bird and blurred bg makes it pop. One of your best!

    Cheers

    Safe travels
