    Default American Oystercatcher

This was taken at Fort Desoto in Florida last week. I like the Reddish Egret like pose. The bird was walking out of the frame so I added canvas to the right side. Hope you enjoy the image and look forward to any comments or suggestions.

Really nice low angle image and very sharp. I love the extended wings and even before I read your comment thought he was imitating a Reddish Egret that was also around last week. Good job of adding canvas. I wouldn't be surprised if this is the same bird I posted a few days ago, but yours is superior in every way. I'd be very happy with this image.

Jim, really nice and unusual pose for this species I think. Light was great and you nailed the exposure and sharpness here. Nice colors and sharpness. the waves added some more interest. Great job on the adding of canvas, I couldn't tell the seam at all.

Very nice one Jim, I never saw OC with this pose before. Was it landing?

This image has a lot of bells and whistles! Really enjoy the pose...so egret like, exposure control is excellent, sharpness and details are all there. The bill looks perfect too, as frequently this seems to be a difficult color/exposure issue for this species.

Hi Jim, I like the angled pose with the semi folded wings. Excellent exposure on a character that is fairly difficult at the best of times. Your added canvas looks good, but I could see a version in vertical too.

Pretty cool pose. I like the water drops, and excellent job with the canvas extension too. The only thing I'd fiddle with is the eye colour...they are usually a much more vibrant shade of yellow than here.

Thanks for the comments and suggestions. Troy the OC was just finished taking a bath and started walking away from the bathing spot. Daniel the eye is shaded by the wing but I could give it a little more pop, other images with the eye in the sun look good. Stuart I will try a vertical and see how I like it.

Excellent exposure and a cool pose, Jim. Love the flying droplets. My favorite part is the eye just peeking out and the shadow that the primaries are casting on the other wing.

Great looking pose and I like the eye peeking out. The exposure looks right on and the feather detail is perfect. Nice job on the canvas extension too. Well done
