Sadly i did not have enough DOF for getting the tip of the snout in focus, so i had to sharpen the tip extra .

Hi Andreas - that is a tight close-up but it works. I like that we can also see the breath a bit. Great open mouth pose. I agree with your self-critique about dof but it doesn't seem off by too much. The extra sharpening helped. Nice one overall.

Hi Andreas, really like the aggressive stance and hint of breath as this seal bellows and roars.

Crop works and keeps the focus/attention. Always tricky when you have a shot like this, however given the situation I think you did extremely well, as a lot of people would have lost the FP in the mouth. Good choice on the additional sharpening. I think you can afford to go a tad darker around the mouth and lower parts, I would even look to darkening the lighter part bottom right. You could even beef the colour up a fraction, WDYT?

Cool image with lots of detail and interest. I also would boost colours and perhaps lift highlights a tiny bit to give more life.
Is that blood down his/her side? I've seen some brutal fights between these guys on TV and wondered.

Thanks Ed for watching and commenting, yes that is blood on RHS as viewed, quite rough that life as a female in those harems from time to time, specially if they do not do , what the bulls want them to do.

RP as per suggestion by you guys , plus i tried to make that smelly fog leaving the mouth more obvious.

    Cheers Andreas

For those who are flexible a B/W version, not everybody's cup, but again a creative attempt.
Hope you like it, if not ok, too.
    Your thoughts are very welcome.

I like how tight you went here Andreas. Colour RP is great. I like the monochrome toning/contrast but the "breath/fog" seems to get lost in that one which makes me prefer the colour version.

Keep it colour Andreas, it has more impact, the mono for me just kills it, but we all see things differently.

Thanks Morkel, you are right i just lost the breath on the way , should have left it in , but do not know how to keep the fog in the frame with this toning/contrast combo ?

Anyhow it feels good that you like the conversion.

Hi Andreas, great close up, and the visible breath makes this for me.

The color RP does it for me. The B&W not. The color shows much more off in such situation.
    I can see the stomach

    Great RP image Andreas

    Have a great eve

    Ciao
    Anette
