Greetings. The detail and the color scheme with the texture is particularly appealing. I wish for more contrast to make the delicate seed puffs stand out more... maybe a multiply blend in that area? Thanks for posting.

I was admiring the golden brown colors & the rough texture and did not notice the fluffy seeds at first. It would be nice to see them better.
I took a quick peek earlier today but didn't have time to comment, then. At first, my reaction about the seed parachutes was the same as Nancy's. But, in a way, it's nice not to notice them right away and enjoy them once they're apparent.
The fine detail caught my attention right away. I've been looking for some good milkweeds for a couple years but haven't found anything remotely as nice as these.
Anita, I love milkweed seed pods! I like the textures that you used and especially that you caught the seed puffs on top. I probably would like them revealed just a little more, maybe by brushing out a tiny bit of the texture over them?

Wow! I love this one, Anita! The detail in the pods is terrific, and I love the colors and texture. I agree with the others on revealing the seed fluff a bit more if possible. I would also remove that one dark spot on the top part of the stem.
Thank you all. I thought I posted a reply and slightly changed photo last night, but, I must have done something wrong.
The fluff is hard to make more visible as it was against a grey sky--light color on light color. I've tried to emphasize it a bit more using High Pass filter. I also cloned out the black spot.

You did a good job of bringing out the wisps Anita. I like the complementary textured BG. I think I am in agreement about Dennis about the wisps. It is fun to discover them!
The High Pass treatment makes a difference, Anita. Inspired by your statement about the original background, I played around with your High Pass version a bit and came up with something that helps them to stand out a bit more. Using a soft brush with one of the dark colors from the background (I used the one from the bottom center), paint at low opacity on a new transparent layer at Soft Light blend mode. The added color is consistent with the background, fades into it nicely, and makes the hairs on the seed parachutes stand out more because they're on a darker background.
Just gorgeous! I would also like to see the seeds a little better, I think.
I'm not so sure about the triangle in the UL. Think I'd banish it by cloning the darker area into the lighter.
