Default Question about mounting replacement foot for 500 f4

Hey all, I just got my Canon 500 f4 today. HOLY CRAP. Aside from that...I have a RRS replacement foot for the lens. I was about to swap it on, but I was reading the lens manual and it says not to do it yourself, as it requires "special mounting". Normally I would have no problem, but when you have a $10K lens and the manual says don't do something, I am thinking twice about it. Does anyone know what the concern would be..special amount of torque? Threadlock of some type? Would like to get some advice before doing this, even though it seems simple enough. Thanks!

Cool, thanks. I'm going to swap it out now.
