My first visit to Bosque. Was very lucky to have beautiful skies. Shot this silhouette just after sundown. Loved the soft colored sky. 1/640, f5.6, ISO 2500, 2/3 EV, Canon 5D Mark lll, with Canon 500mm F/4 ll with 1.4 extender ll. On Gitzo tripod with Wimberly sidekick. Just learning this hobby and having a lot fun. Your thoughts and criticisms are welcome.

I like the sky as you do.
The comp and placement of the cranes, against the pink band,is nice.
I wish for either a black silhouette or better exposure on the birds. I am not loving the "in between" exposure.
I would personally go for a black silhouette on the birds and bump up the saturation of the BG a moderate amount. I would also take a sliver off the bottom.

I agree with Gail above. I would make a true silhouette by darkening the cranes and make the sky pop more in color. You will them have a more powerful age.

Thanks Gail and Marina for your input. I have done what you suggested and I agree it does make a better image..
