    Default Weekly theme: Winter Aspens

Aspens are the only deciduous trees I have in my area so I use them often for subjects, all year around. I added a texture; a layer of topaz adjust, film collection; a layer of topaz simplify 4, buz sim, and nik color efex pro image borders. All layer opacities adjusted.

I like the graphic look you got with this one, Nancy. Brrrr, it looks cold

I could look at this for a long time. The many blues accented by the shapes from the aspens is wonderful. That space on the right without any strong foreground shapes is a great touch, and the border is very effective.

This is a beautiful Hallmark moment for me! It would make a super greeting card, and I agree that I could have this on a wall and look at it all day. Very pretty and evocative of a cold winter day.

Nancy, you captured the essence of an aspen grove in the dead of winter. It appears to be enveloped in an ice fog. Well done.

Nice work, Nancy. Very minimalist. I especially like how the light areas of the trees blend with the BG, leaving your eye to fill in the blanks.

Just beautiful!! I'm a little conflicted about the amount of stuff so close to the right edge. A cleanup or crop would be interesting to compare.

I'd also be tempted to do a Distort and pull out the UR corner, to make the prominent trees to the right of center more vertical.

Thank you so much, everyone! It is super cold up here at 8,000 ft right now!
Diane, thank you for the ideas. I will play with them and see what I get.
