Default Weekly Theme: this is a texture!

I thought it would be cool to actually make a texture instead of just applying one, so I thought of this image. It started as an in-camera multiple exposure of 5 images of reflections in a pond, taken at a local park. The camera was moved during the exposures. I altered the colors with Topaz ReStyle then added some Topaz Clean to give it a painterly look. I think it would make a good texture, but the image stands alone pretty well too, at least I think so. I was thinking of impressionist paintings.

Definitely impressionist! It makes a great abstract with the diagonal created by the mottled golden colors and those very cool blue streaks wiggling up the left side!

Clever idea about making a texture instead of using one. I couldn't help trying it out as a texture on itself after a 180-degree rotation and was happy with the results. Just seeing the changes with different blend modes was educational.

Kerry, it's a beautiful impressionistic texture I think it stands nicely on its own but I would probably crop from the top and eliminate the darker blue in the water a little to the right of center. Lovely work.

Thanks guys! Dennis, I'm glad you had a play with it and what you did was exactly something I was thinking about doing with the image - using it as a texture on itself rotated! You make me feel smart.

I hope to use this as a texture also. Lovely colors and shapes. I like that diagonal line.

Kerry, the image stands alone. The diagonal line and color palette are very pleasing.
