    Default Rufous Whistler

One from yesterday - this species seems to have had a good season with plenty of them around ATM. A lovely bird with a conspicuous and sweet song.
I know, I wish the tail wasn't obscured either! Thanks for looking, Greg.

Hi Greg, love that pose, and the light in this is exquisite. I do like the red eye showing up against the dark grey plumage of the face, and Im fine with the tail as is. I just wish the single small branch falling out of the frame wasnt cut off.

This is Alan Murphy good! And imo, anytime someone says that, it's a compliment of the highest order. Beautiful species and a sweet relaxed singing pose. Stunner sir.

I agree with all the positives above. Is this at a set-up?

Thanks for the feedback everyone - and yes Arthur, it is a setup perch - but using a local indigenous plant in the same place that the bird was found,
    Cheers, Greg

Thanks Greg. Did you use audio or food t attract the bird to the perch?

Thanks for the interest Arthur - playback used. Here in Australia it is difficult to attract songbirds like this to perches, so some playback is required,
    Cheers, Greg

Thanks a stack Greg. When posting an set-up image using audio we ask that you let folks know in the original post lest some folks think that you just got really, really lucky :).
