    Default Eurassian Lynx

Taken in the cold month of January -26 degrees and for those who have seen the image, yes this has been tweaked since it was printed, just opened up the levels a tad more. Would have like it a tad more off centre, with less to the right. Metered off the snow.

Steve - love this one. Great job on the exp and your usual excellent details. Only minor wish is that the second ear tuft didn't intersect with the tail.

Steve, if I dream, I dream big! I thought you were already striving for perfection. It's the chase that matters. If achieved I imagine it would be a bit of a letdown.

Steve, lovely image with great details and your usual good techs and PP. The light was great and showed the linx very well. I didn't see the ear tuft intersecting with the tail until Rachel pointed out, so not a big deal for me. I wish the cat would turn towards you just a tad more though. Were you in a hide? And the 0.33EV metered off the snow works really well. I should try that next time I'm in the cold countries. TFS. Loi

Lovely portrait here Steve. A rare species I am told? Assuming this is a wild one...where was this taken?
I would love to try and shoot in snow one day LOL
    Agree with your self-critique.

Was this F/F? Could you not have cropped a tad to off centre?

Sorry - been away a while. Think you could lose a sliver off the right and top to take it off centre but not lose the beautiful textured snow in the FG. the head turn is a little beyond perfect, but the eye that you can see is stunning. what a beautiful animal.

I just love this image Steve and do not mind for a ear in a tail at all.

    Have a great eve

Hi Steve, beautiful animal and image. Agree with your thoughts in the original post and good call by Rachel on the ear tuft, but a move to the left would have put the other ear tuft into the dark evergreens. Lovely work!!!

    Hi Steve,
well done in most terms , agree about a slight different off centre position.
Well exposed ,superb processed , loads of detail…………
Plus one from me for the tail………. in an ideal world , but would take it as is.
But what i really would do is getting rid of the grey part in the BKG , where the tree stumps stops, i think you could extend the trees with your skills in cloning , think then you have a more even looking BKG.

    Great job , TFS Andreas

Your right Mr L, can't think why not, nor can I remember what it was, hey ho, but totally agree on looking even. nice to have another pair of eyes. You will be making a bid for Rachel's crown on picking stuff like that up.

Nice looking cat Steve with a pleasing touch of habitat in the BG. The slightly slanted tree trunks make me want to rotate it a touch but the legs look straight as posted. Hate when that happens!
