    Default Drinking Grizzly

This beautiful grizzly was taking a break from grazing, and getting a drink late one afternoon in Katmai NP. Removed a small dark OOF blob in upper left corner (probably a distant bear), removed two small white flower and a couple of grass stems, NIK Color Efex tonal contrast at 30%, a very slight crop off left edge to eliminate some dark grass, resized and selectively sharpened. C & C greatly appreciated.

Nice behavior capture, good exposure and detail. I'd try to brighten the face a little and burn some of the highlights on the back. Loi

Nice detail, clarity and behaviour here Mike!
I would tone down the brightest highlights (especially on the fur) if it were mine.
I like the eye contact too!

This is lovely. I like the drinking pose which we do not see posted here very often.
The eye contact is great as well.
Great BG and I like the green FG water. Comp is very pleasing. Techs and IQ look great.

    Hi Mike,

This is a lovely image with great eye contact and details. I've not seen a grizzly but it seems to me that the image is a bit yellow...and the bear's fur is quite light. Perhaps that is how they look but I wonder if a slight drop in the yellows (either saturation, or probably lightness) might just solve your problems of blown highlights and bring the colours into line.

Hi Mike, first thing I noticed was the eye contact, which is great. Very nicely captured and the clean-up mentioned looks good too.

    Hi Mike,
different bear image of what we see here normally, but i like it.
Great low POV and eye contact, like the comp in total.Overall image looks a tad too much on the yellow side, would try to tone down the highlights in the fur as already mentioned , plus would give the bear a tad more mid tone , to give him a bit more form.

    TFS Andreas
