The pose and composition are great. However, the bird looks pretty beat up. Isn't it missing a lot of feathers on the tops of the wings? I'd go back and look for a better looking spoonbill.

this is excellent, I love the sweet light, sharp details and great exposures. The orange/rust patches make him stand out more. He is missing a few feathers but that's a part of "wildlife" and give the bird character IMO.
