    This is one of the " exotic" birds that visit Dallas in winter. LIfe gets exciting for birders here... Just that they spend their days grooming and preening....This is the best of the action all day...

    Great pose and a good choice of composition. Great look at the vascular network on the pouch.
    It looks like he has something at the lower end of the pouch. Wonder what it is?
    I see a slight blue cast in the whites and would address that.

    Wonderful image. I like the head angle too because it afforded a nice look inside and outside of the throat pouch. Exposure work looks very good to me as well.

    Shawn, it looks like there is something there but its the bird's tongue or the proventriculus and a large blood vessel passing through there.
