    That's a great mallard shot Jon. Like all of it. Combining my favourite rear view wuith head back and some great detail. I even like the way the reflection has been diffused too !!

    The light worked a treat here to light up the colour and details in this Drake. Do you have any room on the bottom in the RAW file? Might be tempted to add a little extra fg and cut a fraction off the top but not a deal breaker if you don't have it.

    What a great image of this handsome bird. great techs, although I would be tempted to go for higher f-stop.

    nice capture Jonathan,like the pose and light with some good detail,if mine maybe tweek the eye a bit,looks dull on my screen.

    Thank you for the comments everyone much appreciated, there is room for a re crop. I did tidy the eye slightly - there were two highlights originally.

    Hi Jonathan, really like the pose and the colours on the head, they call them a common bird which of course they are but I recon they could stand there own against so called exotic species, very nice indeed.

    Hi Jon, the angled head from the look back pose shows off the green sheen on the head so well. The 'fluffed' far wing has the shape of the Sydney opera house and overall the finer detail showing up nicely. Maybe a bit off the top.
