Hi Peter - another poignant Etosha image. It does emphasize the harshness of Etosha's "moonscape" at times. I like the toning, the isolation of a single elephant with the line of zebras in the bg and the textures. It feels to me as if the ele's head is just slightly angled away or past the viewer and I would prefer it a little more engaged with the viewer.

    TFS,
    Rachel

    Hi Peter,
another stunner in B/W from you from the tonal point of view, not that much spectacular from the content , compared to the zebra images you recently posted.
Like the tonality you have chosen for this with the elephant and its surrounding , very much emphasized and some subtle color left in there.Great texture in the main subject , love it.Like the including of the other animals in the BKG.
Looks very dry at times this magical Etosha place.

Image taken at Goas? Looks like so, i hope i am not wrong.

Keep them coming.Meanwhile i really find your stuff ,very creative and extraordinary in most cases.

    TFS Andreas

    Hi Peter,

agree with Rachel and Andreas. A great image.
Somehow I have the feeling that it might would look better without the tree in front of the elephant. Not sure. I tried it, but could not decide on this. When the tree is removed the elephant stands out more, just my view. You might want to give it a try or not.
What you do with the toning looks great.

    Have a great eve

    Ciao
    Anette

Hey Peter, Always good to see your killer B&W stuff. The tones and the mood are superb. I love the raised leg and the curled trunk. I agree with most everything said above. I especially love the BKGR animals. For me, the tree is in the wrong spot as it blocks the flow of the image. The only thing that bugs me is that the elephant is angled slightly away from the viewer.

Amazing pic of a wild elephant.Very absorbing image and you dont want to take your eyes off....Like the way the zebras are positioned and they don't seem to be disturbed by the passing of this fella....

Can't add much more here Peter...only that I wished to see an elephant in the Halali region on my recent trip LOL (the rains kept them in the woodlands)
I agree on the head angle, and love the line of zebras in the BG.
